Description:
Upgrade your 7.3 Powerstroke with the KC300x Stage 1 Gen 3 Turbo, a drop-in performance turbo designed for quicker spool-up, increased airflow, and more power. This turbo features a 4” ported housing with drilled anti-surge for improved efficiency, a completely redesigned Gen 3 7x7 SXE-style compressor wheel with extended tip technology for faster response, and an SXE-style turbine wheel with a thicker shaft for increased durability.
We’ve re-engineered both the compressor and turbine housings to bring modern turbo technology to the 7.3 Powerstroke platform. The .91 A/R turbine housing and .70 A/R compressor cover optimize airflow for faster spool and more top-end power, outperforming outdated stock options. These upgrades are inspired by the latest turbocharger designs, incorporating improved volute shaping, optimized flow paths, and enhanced material density for superior performance.
Durability is just as important as power, which is why the KC300x Gen 3 features a redesigned bearing housing and backing plate to accommodate 200% larger thrust bearings and wider, taller journal bearings. The steel thrust insert replaces the weaker aluminum backing plate, reducing expansion rates and ensuring consistent performance under extreme heat and pressure. These reinforcements enhance turbo longevity, preventing distortion and deflection in high-horsepower applications.
After years of research and development, we’ve created the most powerful drop-in turbo available—guaranteed to outperform anything else on the market. This turbo is an ideal match for stock injectors up to 205/30s, but if you’re running anything larger, we recommend checking out the KC300x G3 Stage 2 for maximum performance.
Curious about the exact sizing? We guarantee this turbo will outperform any other drop-in option, but if you really need the details, message us and we’ll go over the sizing options with you!
The polished cover is shown, the turbos come with a duller factory finish, unless ordered differently. Polished and powder coat turbos covers are an additional $250 and a two week lead time.
KC turbos are designed to fit in 7.3 diesel pick-up trucks. The turbos can drop into 7.3 equipped Vans however, you will need to modify the turbo intake boot and down-pipe for proper fitment. This turbocharger will not fit OBS or E99 trucks without modification.
EXHAUST BRAKES: Using the exhaust brake can be hard on both the turbo and motor and is not recommended. While you will retain the OEM feature, given appropriate calibration and setup, there can be clearance issues which cause damage to the turbine wheel as well as the brake hindering performance. Exhaust brakes often use a gate which close to increase back pressure and aid in braking. This back pressure can also cause issues with the turbo.
We cannot guarantee fitment with all variations of aftermarket parts like fuel systems, plenums, piping kits, etc.
