Description:
Due to the popularity of the original TP38r turbo for the 7.3 Powerstroke, we've brought back a smaller, more refined version tailored for trucks running average-sized injectors. That’s right—the Original TP38r "Tiger Turbo" is back and better than ever!
After years of research and development, we've rigorously tested and upgraded our original ball bearing design to bring you the most reliable ball-bearing turbo KC Turbos has ever produced.
What’s New?
✅ Upgraded Compressor Wheel – Now featuring a larger 7x7 KC300x Gen 2 wheel, inspired by the 366SX-E design, with a reverse rotation blade profile for improved efficiency.
✅ Redesigned Turbine Wheel – Built with a larger diameter, thicker blades, a reinforced hub, and stronger rear webbing, making it more durable and resistant to fatigue or wheel burst.
✅ Stronger Dual Ball Bearing Center Housing – Modified to fit a 7.5mm shaft (up from the original 6.4mm), enhancing strength and longevity.
This dual ball-bearing turbo will breathe new life into your 7.3! We've torture-tested it for longevity, proven its capability on the dyno, and pushed it to the limit at the race track.
For high-RPM power and cooler EGTs above 3000 RPM, go with the 1.0 A/R housing. If you’re looking for quicker spool and lower EGTs under 3000 RPM, the .84 A/R housing is the perfect choice for daily driving and towing.
KC turbos are designed to fit in 7.3 diesel pick-up trucks. The turbos can drop into 7.3 equipped Vans however, you will need to modify the turbo intake boot and down-pipe for proper fitment.
**EXHAUST BRAKES: Using the exhaust brake can be hard on both the turbo and motor and is not recommended. While you will retain the OEM feature, given appropriate calibration and setup, there can be clearance issues which cause damage to the turbine wheel as well as the brake hindering performance. Exhaust brakes often use a gate which close to increase back pressure and aid in braking. This back pressure can also cause issues with the turbo.
